DANCE: Great way to make friends

editorial image

For the past few weeks I have been going to Pegswood Welfare with my friend Keith Shirley, who plays music on his electronic keyboard.

Many couples enjoy dancing. It starts at 2pm and goes on until 4pm. I don’t dance, but I was warmly welcomed. I have made friends with a gentleman who is 85 years old.

There is a raffle at 3pm, the prizes are mostly sweets and chocolate, and we have coffee, tea and biscuits.

Just sitting watching people dance with their partners gives me a wonderful feeling of friendship.

I advise any ‘oldish’ person to attend one of these classes.
