Dance school gets a home of its own

Little Gems School of Dance, established 15 years ago in Cramlington, has finally opened its own studio in the town.

With 200 dancers attending 21 classes each week, it had outgrown its previous hired venues, so principal Gemma Crane has opened a purpose-designed studio in Enterprise Court.

Its two studio areas will allow for the current class timetable to be expanded and more opportunities to be offered to new and existing dancers.

Gemma said: “I am very proud of my team at Little Gems School of Dance and we are thrilled to finally have a home of our own. Everyone in the school has worked very hard to ensure that Little Gems School of Dance @ The Studio is the best studio space that we can offer our dancers and allows us to continue to offer a wide range of high quality classes to our dancers.

“Our dancers and their families have been extremely positive about the move to the new studio and everyone is very excited about what is to come at Little Gems.”

The school teaches a range of dance styles including ballet, tap, modern, disco, cheerleading, acro, street and contemporary as well as drama and musical theatre.

Since the opening of the new studio the school has also welcomed ‘Zumba with Alysia’ and hopes very soon to add yoga, pilates, dance for children with additional needs and singing to the class timetable.

Street dance dup Twist and Pulse, 2010 Britain’s Got Talent runners-up, came along to mark the opening of the new studio.
