Girlguides from Ashington will take on a special dance challenge for Comic Relief this weekend.
On Sunday, girls from Brownie, Rainbow, Guide and Senior Section units in Ashington, Ellington and Bedlington will take part in the first ever Comic Relief Danceathon in support of Red Nose Day 2015.
The girls, all aged between five and 19, will join thousands of other Guides up and down the country to take part in the special girl-only dance, getting sponsored to bust some serious moves for six hours.
Every Girlguiding member will collect sponsorship from friends and family to join in the fun and raise vital funds for people living really tough lives across Africa.
Girlguiding’s chief guide Gill Slocombe said: “I’m thrilled that Guides from communities all over the UK will be joining together for this fun-filled dance extravaganza.”
The Danceathon will kick off at noon on Sunday, March 8, where guides from across the division will gather together to take on the challenge.
