DEMENTIA: Visiting does have impact

After reconnecting with friends and family over the holidays, new year can be a bleak and lonely time for people with dementia and their carers.

Worryingly, research shows that 44 per cent of those in the north east mistakenly think the benefits of visiting people with dementia who no longer recognise them are minimal. On the contrary, spending time with loved ones and taking part in meaningful activities can have a powerful and positive impact, even if they don’t remember the event.

Our services enable people affected by dementia to stay connected. Visit or call 0300 222 1122.
