A mining company is introducing a new licensing scheme to develop future directors and managers.
Banks Mining has launched a staff development programme and a management development programme showing employees how they can progress through the ranks.
As part of the project, Banks Mining has invested a full-time trainer to lead the new scheme and on-site training facilities at its Shotton surface mine near Cramlington.
Keith Tarn, human resources manager at The Banks Group, said: “Attracting, developing and retaining high calibre staff, and equipping them with the right range and breadth of skills is a key challenge for any modern business, and the decision to develop our own licensing scheme has been driven by the need to ensure we’re equipped to meet this challenge.
“The management development programme sets out how our mining teams can move their careers forwards with us.”
