Improvement work is being carried out at Seghill First School

Following work to improve the appearance of Seghill First School, areas of the middle garden were damaged and trees removed.

Now parents are holding a Groundforce Day on Friday, May 5, to re-plan the garden area and provide and outdoor educational space.

Work on the day includes weeding and planting bulbs in the middle garden and planters around school, tidying up around the main entrance, cleaning and painting the metal railings, and general tidying outside areas.

Local businesses have been making donations, with the school in need of child sized picnic benches, bird feeders, trees, shrubs, plants, pots, compost, and small stones.

On Friday, May 12, the school is hosting a launch event following completion of the works.

Special guests will see the newly refurbished building and unique middle garden.
