Dog chain is used to damage car

A man has caused damage to a car after hitting it with a heavy metal dog chain in Ashington.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Tuesday, April 15, at approximately 12.25pm when a car was parked on Norham Road.

Two men were in the street when an altercation took place and a man with a heavy dog chain struck a vehicle in the street causing damage.

Police have descriptions of the two men who were in the area at the time and may have information which could assist police.

The first man is described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall, with short cropped hair, wearing jeans, a light grey hoody and a distinctive dark coloured Deerstalker hat with blue and yellow piping. He had a stocky dark brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog with him.

The second man was also white, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with short cropped hair, wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a darker grey hooded top.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the damage and anyone who may recognise either man to contact officers.
