Dog show is set to make a return

An annual fun dog show will return to Ashington this weekend.

Ashington Community Development Trust are bringing Picnic with Pets back to the Queen Elizabeth II Country Park on Saturday, September 5, from 10.30am.

This year, Picnic with Pets has seven classes for entrants in the fun dog show, culminating with the winners in each class being judged for Best in Show. Robson and Prescott Veterinary Centre will be providing the head judge, assisted by children from the local community.

Classes are: Cutest Puppy, Prettiest Bitch, most Handsome Dog, Golden Oldie, Best Trick, Most Waggiest Tail and Perfect Pair. Perfect Pair is a new class for this year and it’s going to be an interesting one for the judges as ‘pair’ could be a dog and its owner or two dogs.

There is a £2 per entrant per class charge.

Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter will also be on site with their microchipping van.
