A Northumberland businesswoman is celebrating after winning recognition from a ‘Dragon’.

Zoe-Lisa Blackler, from Ashington, opened Gym and Junior in Cardiff, having moved to Wales to study business and finance.

And now Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis has chosen Zoe-Lisa’s business a winner in his ‘Small Business Sundays’ competition – retweeting her to his 460,000 followers.

Zoe-Lisa said: “My Twitter feed has gone mad, and membership and partnership enquiries are flying in.

“I’m particularly thrilled as it was the first time I’d entered and this is a huge step forward for us in building the Gym and Junior brand nationally through partnerships and franchises since someone as respected as Theo Paphitis has recognised it as a great concept.”

Company director Julie O’Donnell added: “The benefits of these external accolades for the business are immense and it’s an exciting phase.”
