More than £5,000 has been distributed among 30 charities and organisations thanks to a special fundraising night in south east Northumberland.
Morpeth Lions members recently held a ‘Dickens of a Draw’, and raised almost £5,400 for good causes.
Morpeth Lions president, Stuart Lewis, said: “We are very pleased to organise the Dickens of a Draw which enables local charities and clubs to raise much needed funds for themselves.
“With the Lions arranging the prizes and the 10,000 books of tickets for those looking to fundraise, it is an excellent opportunity.
“We as an organisation are always looking for opportunities to help local organisations to help themselves.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who kindly donated prizes, as without their support it would not be possible to raise much needed funds.”
