A CANNABIS farm worth an estimated £70,000 has been found by police in premises in Morpeth after police executed a search warrant.
Officers carried out the raid at 7pm on Wednesday, April 3, at a garage on an industrial unit, where they found around 400 plants.
Morpeth Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Simpson said: “This is a considerable amount of cannabis that we suspect was intended to be sold.
“This activity should act as a warning to anyone suspected of being involved in cultivating drugs that we are taking action to disrupt their criminal behaviour and will continue to do so.
“Information we receive from our communities is crucial in helping us and we continue to ask anyone with any information about crime or any concerns to contact us.”
A 27-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug.
