Residents of Northumberland can enjoy a weekend of free or discounted entry into more than 30 of the county’s top attractions and activities as the Residents’ Festival returns next weekend.
The fifth annual festival is organised by Northumberland County Council in partnership with the participating visitor attractions over Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30.
Attractions range from castles and country houses to petting zoos, leisure activities and gardens and museums.
Along with usual favourites from south east Northumberland such as Blyth Battery and Newbiggin Maritime centre, there will be Alnwick Garden and Chillingham Castle, as well as six new attractions for this year including Whitehouse Farm Centre in Stannington.
Northumberland County Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture, said: “We would like to encourage local residents to take this opportunity to experience the wonderful attractions available to us all, right on our door step.
“It’s going to be great to see more and more attractions and residents getting involved.
“This weekend has become really special for local people, allowing them to enjoy a weekend in our county for free or at a discount, and we hope this year’s event will be a big success.
“The festival is a great opportunity for families right across Northumberland.”
Residents’ Festival brochures which include the vouchers are also available from local libraries, council offices, tourist information centres and sports centres across Northumberland.
