RESIDENTS are being urged to use a new service to report problems to Northumberland County Council on the go.
By downloading a new smart phone app people can report graffiti or vandalism, litter or fly-tipping, damaged paving stones or potholes and broken street or traffic lights on the spot from their mobile phone.
Owners of iPhones and Blackberries and, in future, Android-based phones, can download the free application that automates everything; taking a photo, recording the location and sending it to the council.
To use the service, take a photo and send it in to council staff, who will deal with the issue and feed back the result.
Those who do not have a smart phone, can send details in via text, or take a photo and upload it to the website later.
The service, which has been developed by the council in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy and Love Clean Streets, is available to download at www.lovenorthumberland.org.uk
