Bedlington Town FC was only established in 2010, but is one of the region’s fastest growing clubs.

And to celebrate the club went along to Newcastle United’s St James’ Park, where Premiership referee Mark Clattenburg presented a trophy in recognition of its development.

The 650-strong gathering also met French international Sissoko, before being treated to a carnival themed party and disco.

Following the event Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery attended an under 11’s Panthers session to present long-service glass trophies to players who have spent five years at the club.

Chairman David Lanhorne said: “This recognition is something the children are very proud of.”
