Hilarie Tucknott is only the third woman from the region to be elected to the role of national president for Business and Professional Women UK (BPW) since the organisation began in 1938.

And she expects there will be many changes to come as BPW responds to the challenges and opportunities that 2016 will bring.

Hilarie is looking forward to spearheading the changes and welcoming the new members who have joined after hearing of her election.

Despite the role, Hilarie will still hope to have time to maintain her garden in Bedlington.

Hilarie also volunteers for WHAC in Ashington and for Mind Active.

BPW UK began at the outbreak of the Second World War and encourages women to achieve their full potential.
