A Cramlington facility invited family, friends and the local community to celebrate National Care Home Open Day 2016 with residents and staff.
The annual campaign, now in its fourth year, aims to connect residents with their local communities and create lasting relationships.
Staff at the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution care home Scarbrough Court pla-nned an exciting day of events.
Local singer Kev Royale set the mood for the day with lively entertainment in the morning. Residents sang and danced and were even invited to sing with the microphone.
In the afternoon, four-year-old guide dog Ellie, from Guide Dogs for the Blind, came along with her owner and trainer Anne Wilson. Residents and guests enjoyed an informal talk about how guide dogs are trained and how they support people.
The day was rounded off with an afternoon tea.
