Melanie Hartshorn, pictured above receiving a cheque from the Blagdon Amateur Thespian Society, suffers from a severe form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) that causes all of her joints to dislocate, especially those in her spine and neck.

She also has a severe case of craniocervical instability (CCI) and she is now completely bed-bound.

The auction lots include Newcastle United match tickets, a VIP spa day and a family photo shoot with a large printed canvas by Blyth-based Halo Photography. Click here to go to the auction page.

Each lot is on display as a post on that page and people can make an opening bid, or go higher than the last bid in the comments section of each post. The auction ends at 10.45pm on Saturday, February 25.

This is the day of her fund-raising ball at the home of Newcastle Falcons, Kingston Park.

The glamorous event will include a purple carpet welcome drinks reception, professional photographer, three-course meal, live singer, guitarist, starlight dance floor with a DJ, an auction, a raffle and a photobooth.

Those with tickets who have not already done so are asked to provide payments, names and food orders by 10pm tomorrow.
