Activities taking place at last years Ashington Fayre Day.

Ashington Fayre Day will take place on Sunday, June 26, from 10am to 4.30pm.

It will include live music, funfair rides, market stalls and a range of street entertainment, including power stilt walkers, dance and kids’ face-painting.

The fair this year will take place in the car park to the rear of Wansbeck Square (Wilko’s) as work to re-develop Station Road is now under way.

Activities will also be taking place at Ashington Cricket Club over the weekend.

Ashington Fayre Day has been brought together by a dedicated working group of local community groups and organisations working alongside Ashington Town Council, including the Ashington Town Team, Bad Apples North East, Northumberland YMCA and Ashington Cricket Club.

Ashington Town Council’s town clerk Mike Slaughter said: “The Fayre Day is in a different location this year due to the re-development of Station Road.

“However, the working group is always looking to what else can be added to the Fayre Day programme in order to make it bigger and better year-on-year. All we can hope for now is another dry and fine day and a bumper crowd.”
