Female runners urged to enter charity event

Northumberland Sport is urging women and girls to sign up for the Race for Life at Northumberlandia to help raise money for Cancer Research

Organised in association with Cancer Research UK, more 100 have already signed up for the evening event, which takes place on Thursday, May 22.

Northumberland Sport has receivedthe support of local organisations such as Northumberland Wildlife Trust and Azure Garden Centre, which operates the recently opened Banks Group Café at the Northumberlandia landform site.

Lee Sprudd,business manager with Northumberland Sport, said: “We’re really looking forward to building on the success of our event last year and hope that this event will encourage more women to get involved for a terrific cause and hope that this also provides a platform to encourage participants to take up activity on a regular basis.”
