A north east mental health and disability care provider has selected artwork by an award-winning service user to feature on its Christmas card.
Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW) decided to choose the seasonal image of a Robin Red Breast to be the design of the Trust’s official Christmas greeting.
The original painting was created by a service user who was supported by the Arts’ Project at NTW’s Northgate hospital in Morpeth which provides support for people with learning disabilities.
Trust chairman, Hugh Morgan Williams, said: “This image truly reflects the season and the use of festive colours really makes the picture come alive.
“We are delighted that the achievements of our service users are being showcased on our Christmas card and hope it will be enjoyed by everyone who receives one.”
The design also received a Commended award by arts’ charity the Koestler Trust.
