The market included jewellery, cards, decorations and tombola stalls, as well as pony rides and refreshments, while VIP visitors arrived in the form of Santa Claus and charcters from Disney’s Frozen. A school spokeswoman said: “Thanks to all who contributed and donated gifts and prizes for making the event such a success.”

The senior citizens’ celebration for older members of the Bedlington community started with drinks and bingo, before Christmas lunch.

Entertainment was provided courtesy of the school’s music department, and gifts and drinks were donated by the Co-op.

Guests left with presents, raffle prizes and, of course, Christmas cake.
