A charity is helping to keep people dancing in later life in a bid to ward off dementia.
Rowan Tinlin, local manager for Royal Voluntary Service, introduces dance classes for older people.
Rowan has started holding dance and creative movement sessions across south east Northumberland and they are becoming increasingly popular.
“The value of physical activity is often overlooked in the older population and yet growing research into exercise and health suggests multiple benefits including the reduced risk of developing dementia,” he said.
A new group meets at St Paul’s Church, Seaton Sluice, on a Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm. Call Rowan on 0845 266 8906 for more details.
