FIREFIGHTERS will hold a family fun day at Pegswood Fire Station to raise money for two charities.
The event on Saturday, July 2, starts at noon, with the proceeds from the day will be split between The Firefighers’ Charity and the special care baby unit at Wansbeck General Hospital.
A packed programme of activities is planned including fire service demonstrations, children’s inflatables and swings, as well as an opportunity to take part in a firefighter challenge and a driving simulator challenge.
Coun Anita Romer, Northumberland County Council’s executive member for public protection, said: “I hope that lots of people come along to this event to enjoy what’s on offer and help to raise money for two worthwhile causes.
“As the day takes place at one of Northumberland’s new community fire stations, it’s also a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to take a look at this state-of-the-art facility too.”
Newbiggin Brass Band will be playing to entertain the crowds, there will a raffle and tombola as well as plenty of stalls and food and drink available throughout the afternoon.
