Daniel Allington, a graduate of Northumbria University, joined the Ashington-based company in early January.

As applications engineer, it is his role to take enquiries from customers who have a problem with thermal management and work to find or create a solution.

NPI engineering manager at Aavid Thermacore Europe, Craig Richardson, said: “We’ve been really impressed with Daniel. Having worked previously in the oil and gas sector, he already had a good understanding of thermal dynamics coming into the job, which has helped him to hit the ground running in his new role.

“Going forward, with the support of our in-house specialists, Daniel will be working on a variety of projects for clients across all of the market sectors we serve.”

The firm delivers a range of thermal management solutions to a wide variety of market sectors – including the automotive, aerospace, defence and space industries.

Mr Allington said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be working at Aavid Thermacore.

“The company’s work within the space and defence sectors was definitely a major attraction for me, but most of all, I wanted to work for a company where there would be enough longevity in the product to start a career.

“The projects I’m working on are quite technically challenging, but the role itself is quite similar to what I have done previously.”
