First bands named for Live
Some of the region's most entertaining musical acts have been lined up for this year's Northumberland Live Festival at Blyth, with more to be announced '“ including the headliners.
Due to contractual agreements, the name of the headlining band won’t be released until the end of February, but organisers have already secured three bands from the region who are guaranteed to entertain the crowds on Saturday, June 23.
STAN the band have recently been recognised nationally after winning a competition at the Great British Rock and Blues Festival.
The Baldy Holly Band is also on the list, and they will be bringing a taste of the 1950s to Blyth.
And Barnard Castle band Edenthorn complete the line-up of groups announced so far.
Once again, Blyth Town Council will sponsor the Northumberland Live Festival at Blyth.
Chairman of the events committee Kath Nisbet believes that this year’s free festival will be the biggest and best yet.
She said: “We’ve proven in recent years that we can attract big names to Blyth. This year is no exception and the calibre of the support bands will indicate just how special the headlining band is.”
