Food festival comes to town for first time

Food lovers can indulge in tasty treats and local produce during a food festival this weekend.

The first Cramlington Foodie Festival, held at Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure, on Saturday, July 19, from 10am to 4pm, will offer visitors a tasteful experience as they explore a variety of food and craft stalls.

Amongst the local food traders attending the day-long festival will be The Chirnells Farmhouse Kitchen, The Northumberland Sausage Company and The Chocolate Smiths to offer a diverse range of produce.

A selection of Manor Walks’ retailers will also be serving up delicious delights, including Curiously Wicked, O’Briens Café, Coffee As You Like It, M&S Simply Food, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

Throughout the day visitors to Manor Walks will have the chance to enjoy summer classics cooked up on the Cramlington Foodie Festival demonstration kitchen. Shoppers will be able to watch, learn and get involved with the making of the dishes during the cooking sessions, which will take place throughout the day, while face painting will help keep the younger visitors entertained.

Bruno Coppola, general manager at Manor Walks, said: “We are very excited to be hosting Cramlington’s first-ever food festival right here at Manor Walks.

“It is great to be working with so many of our retailers and local traders to celebrate quality food produced here in the north east.

“Visitors will be able to enjoy food stalls, craft stalls and a range of activities at the centre of their community.”
