Thousands of people descended on Ashington as an inaugural food festival proved to be a tasty treat.
Stall holders from around Northumberland filled Station Road last Saturday to showcase the best food from the county.
The event – opened by Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery – was organised by Ashington Community Development Trust, which is hoping the event will become a regular feature on the calendar.
As well as more than 30 stalls and their culinary delights, there was also a circus school by Bad Apples and children’s rides to keep youngsters entertained, with an estimated 10,000 people believed to have attended.
Janet Cresswell, trust manager, said: “We are aiming for this to be an annual event to showcase the best that the area has to offer.”
