Unemployed youngsters from south east Northumberland are being invited to take part in a new volunteering project.
Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service (WCVS)has been awarded funding from the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland to work with volunteers aged 14 to 25 in the county.
Project co-ordinator Lisa Wackett said: “The volunteers will not only work towards gaining a Level 1 qualification in horticulture but will be provided with work experience and references.”
WCVS chief executive officer Anne Lyall added: “We are delighted how this project has developed and are grateful to our partners Seaton Hirst Allotments, Groundworks and Hirst Welfare for their support in developing this project.”
