I am writing to correct the information in a letter printed in last week’s edition.
The garage site was not repaired at the request of Town Councillor Barrie Elliot, it was in fact done as part of environmental works by Homes for Northumberland.
As a member of the tenants’ panel, I can Inform your readers that it was part of a number of requests that was put forward by residents and councillors to be considered.
As it only has a small budget, not all requests are able to be fulfilled.
On this occasion this was one of the projects that was approved along with footpaths at bungalows in one area of Blyth and fences for bungalows in the Cramlington area who previously had been open plan front and back.
I don’t mind praise when someone has achieved something but that is not so in this case. In fact it was put forward by Councillor Campbell.
