Gold medallist shows support for pub tour

Paralympian gold medalist Stephen Miller has been supporting Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) when it appeared in Cramlington last weekend.

BBPT, which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity, set off from the Blagdon Arms in Cramlington on Sunday.

And the town’s very own Paralympian medal winner was on hand to lend his support to the fundraising marathon

As the first and largest pub tour ever attempted in the UK by a national pub operator, all 620 pubs and 12,000 employees are engaged with raising funds for the the organisation supporting children

The company smashed it’s fundraising target of £100,000 within just six weeks of the 19-week tour, putting it on track to be the biggest ever single fundraising event in aid of Variety.

A giant BBPT passport will journey 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business.

On visiting the Blagdon Arms the pub had a range of fundraising activities including an all-day beach themed family fun day, pie eating competition while two of the bar staff had their legs waxed in support of the fundraising.
