A Blyth charity has received more than £1,000 after 12 volunteers took part in fundraising events.
The Unforgettable Smile Foundation, which raises funds for The Palliative Care Unit at Wansbeck Hospital and Cancer Research UK in Newcastle, was chosen by the United Smile team as the final part of its National Citizen Service programme.
Led by Catch-22 Northumberland, the group had to carry out 30 hours of youth-led social action to raise funds or awareness for a chosen charity.
After a 5k fancy dress run smashed its fundraising target of £40 each, there was a Buskers’ Night at Blyth Golf Club, which raised £851.
The team graduated from the scheme in November.
