Groups on the hunt for new leaders

A girlguiding division from south east Northumberland is on the look out for additional leaders to join them.

A recruitment campaign has been held at Blyth’s Keel Row Shopping Centre, with activities for children on offer to give leaders the opportunity to speak to adults and to distribute information about volunteering with girlguiding.

Commissioner Barbara Craigs said: “We want to support existing groups and open new ones to allow more girls to join in the Guiding fun across the county.”

Activities on offer included decorating biscuits, making bracelets and Christmas tree baubles and solving puzzles.

Barbara added: “Thanks to the support of local shops clues for a Treasure Hunt featuring Girlguiding Badges were displayed in windows.”
