Months of hard work to capture the heritage of a seaside community have culminated in the unveiling of a banner.
The feature was created by Newbiggin by the Sea Women’s Institute to mark the centenary of the national organisation and tell the story of the area.
The banner was unveiled by group president Eileen Turney, with special guests including Northumberland Federation WI chairman Hilary Robson and councillors.
Special mention was given to Cathryn Morton, who led the project.
Mayor Stuart Todd said: “It’s great credit to the highly skilled ladies, who have obviously dedicated so much time to create such a beautiful picture of our community and its heritage.”
