Hawaiian fun helps raise cash for charity

STAFF and customers at a Cramlington supermarket have helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Sainsbury’s Cramlington raised £675 for their local charity partner, South East Northumberland Stroke Support Group.

They raised the money by holding summer Hawaiian dress up days in July.

It was the second fundraising activity that staff and customers have taken part in to support the charity since June.

A spokesperson said: “A huge thank you to all customers and colleagues who took part and also for donating such huge amounts.”

A cheque for £675 was presented to the group at its monthly meeting recently by three members of staff.

The group meet on the first Tuesday of the month at St Nicholas’ Church, Cramlington, from 1pm to 3pm.
