Help for students considering post 16
An event has been held to help young people with special education needs to prepare for their future.
A range of post 16 options were exhitibited to the youngsters at the Woodhorn Museum in Ashington.
Coun Wayne Daley said: “The event allows young people to review a range of pathways to take and offers them the opportunity to discuss and ask questions to help them to make informed decisions based on their personal interests and skills.”
Paralympian Stephen Miller MBE, founder of SMILE Through Sport, was also at the event. The organisation supports those with disabilities who are interested in sport.
He said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to return to talk to the attendees of this event, discussing their interests and chatting to them about their hopes and dreams for their own futures and giving them advice about how to reach their own goals.”
