Sixth form students from Cramlington have visited The Bay Foodbank during their Student Community Action Week.

As well as donating food and helping to re-stock the shelves, students from Cramlington Learning Village learned how to pack food boxes for distribution to vulnerable and needy families and individuals throughout the area.

Based on the most commonly donated foods the students have also created recipe cards to distribute with the parcels.

Volunteers at The BAY Foodbank, supported by Angels of the North, have seen demand for food and basic provisions grow three-fold during the past two months and greatly welcomed the support of the Cramlington students.

Food donation bins are available for residents to donate food at businesses and supermarkets.
