A store took part in a national initiative to promote the benefits of organic food.

Food For Thought, in Astley Road, Seaton Delaval, offered a free organic mini breakfast as part of Wake Up To Organic, organised by the Organic Trade Board.

Owner Lesley Keen dished up organic breakfast tasters to local shoppers to show how easy it is to go organic.

Aileen Nicol, campaign director at the Organic Trade Board, said: “Wake Up To Organic was the perfect opportunity to encourage people to make a simple switch to organic, with breakfast a great place to start the journey.

“We wanted to show how easy it is to go organic by showcasing the range of choice available in your local independent stores. It’s all part of our mission to make organic every day and for everyone.”
