House fire in Blyth extinguished

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in an area of Blyth this morning.

After a call was made at 9.34am, two Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) appliances from West Hartford Community Fire Station and one Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service appliance went along to the property in Cowpen.

An NFRS spokesman said: “The fire was on the ground floor.

“Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and they cleared the incident at 10.28am.”
