Industrial estates hit by two fires in a week

TWO industrial estates in Cramlington have been hit by fire in the space of a week.

The first blaze, a suspected arson attack on two vehicles, took place at 10.57pm on Tuesday last week at East Cramlington Industrial Estate, just off the B1326.

Police and firefighters were called out.

A DAF truck and a Ford Transit van had been set on fire.

No one was hurt in the blaze.

Officers believe the fires were started deliberately and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them on 101 ext 69191.

They are especially keen to speak to anyone who saw a small green Peugeot-style car in the area around the time of the fire.

Another fire broke out on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to Nelson Industrial Estate just after 11pm after receiving reports of an alarm sounding at a garage and workshop.

Three fire engines from West Hartford were called out to extinguish the fire, along with another from Pegswood.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze are continuing.
