A kind-hearted Ashington resident has put her creativity to good use to raise funds for charity.
When Isabel Mackenzie heard about a young local girl with leukaemia, she decided to hold a fundraising event in aid of blood cancer charity Bloodwise, which funds research and provides information and support.
She set about making cards, goody bags and crafts to sell, as well as getting donations of raffle prizes.
With support from Isabel’s friends, a coffee morning took place at Age UK’s Round House in Ashington for the sale, raising an impressive £1,205.
She said: “I was impressed with the number of people who attended the event.”
Bloodwise fundraising co-ordinator Lauren Fraser said: “We can’t thank Isabel enough for her amazing support and everyone who got involved to make the day such a successful one.”
