A youngster from south east Northumberland won a shopping centre’s colouring competition.
Five-year-old Joshua Watson-Daley, a pupil at Morpeth Road Primary School, won the Keel Row’s Easter competition, which saw entries come from seven primary schools across Blyth.
The children were asked to put their creative talents to use by decorating an Easter bunny using any materials they wanted. Joshua was presented his prize of chocolate treats and art supplies worth £50.
Keel Row centre manager Callum Reid said: “With so many fantastic entries it was hard to choose a winner, but Joshua’s fantastic effort had stood out from the beginning.
“I’m delighted to award Joshua with his prize and hope he enjoys it.”
Meanwhile pupils from Croftway Primary School are set to bake up a storm on Saturday, May 16, at the centre as part of a cake sale to raise money for Blyth Star Enterprises.
The pop-up cake stall will see pupils whisking up all manner of delicious baked goodies to sell.
Headteacher Shirley Clement said: “We’re very excited to head to Keel Row and start selling our delicious cakes.”
