A NEW coach has been taken on as college staff hit the road this summer to help people plan the best routes to their personal career goals.

Newcastle College is launching a new fully equipped careers coach which will be travelling around the region offering advice on courses, finance, childcare, and specialist learning support.

It features a fully equipped mobile classroom, kitchen facilities and is fully accessible.

The bus will be stopping at a large number of locations throughout the summer including Manor Walks, Cramlington, and a number of Morrison and Sainsbury supermarkets.

Jacquie Brown, director of student services, said: “By proactively going out to speak to people in their local community rather than asking them to come to us, we are trying to make things as simple as possible for everyone.

“We will have experts on hand to offer instant advice to anyone who is considering taking a course to further their career who needs help to make the right choices.

“We also want to make more people aware of the additional support Newcastle College has to offer, such as financial help with travel or equipment costs and specialist assistance for those with specific learning needs.”
