Of all the bad ideas, moving the bowls club in Cramlington has to be up there (News Post Leader, March 20).
Don’t get me wrong, l really enjoy ten- pin bowling, but there are enough ten-pin bowling venues around the region to satisfy anyone’s wish to go.
You have them at Whitley Bay, Longbenton, Newcastle and the Metro Centre.
So leave the bowls club alone.
What have the members there done wrong?
Nothing except do something we all do and that’s get older.
Its not even that the management can say the space isn’t being used, five times a week isn’t exactly leaving the rooms unused.
Can you see yourself when you are 94-plus playing ten-pin bowling? l didn’t think so.
I’m sure l’m not the only one that feels like this.
