A FITNESS instructor has put his pedal to the metal to raise money for charity.
Lee Ford cycled 850 miles in ten days across the UK and Ireland in the Cap-to-Cap bike ride, which raised more than £1,000 for the Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
The 30-year-old, of East Terrace, Stakeford, works for St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth as outpatient co-ordinator and also as a fitness instructor at Paramount Health and Fitness in Bedlington.
Mike Pratt, chief executive of Northumberland Wildlife Trust, said: “Lee is an inspiration to us all here at the trust and just proves that if you want to do something, the only person stopping you is yourself.”
Lee will be raising more funds for the trust by taking part in the Great North Run and the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon in September.
