Lifeboat called to help ill casualty marooned on Holy Island

A lifeboat was called to Holy Island when a casualty became ill and needed hospital treatment when the tide was in.

At 5.23am on Saturday, September 19, Seahouses RNLI launched a lifeboat when a female patient on the island needed medical assistance.

The Causeway was closed until 9.05am. The lifeboat took ambulance crew to Holy Island, where the Coastguard Team took them to the casualty.

The casualty was assessed and paramedics took her to hospital, after the lifeboat had taken her to an ambulance.
