Local opposition to extension plan

A PLANNING application for Ellington Avenue in Ashington by Cortech has been objected to by the local residents.

The planning officers are supporting the applicant to extend an industrial building in what is essentially a residential area.

The extension is to house a so called ‘cherry picker’ vehicle which is much higher than a normal van.

Until recently this vehicle was housed on one of the industrial estates in the area.

This vehicle should be housed on one of the estates on which the county council has spent millions of pounds.

The building to facing building distance for this proposed extension is less than all the estates in this area and most areas in Northumberland. Why?
