THIS little boy is the envy of his friends after he got a huge cuddle from the Duchess of Cambridge.

Terry Campbell, ten, from Blyth, stretched out his arms towards the future Queen as she paid a visit to Newcastle’s Civic Centre today.

The Duchess, dressed in a dark purple coat, wrapped her arms around the child as he leant over railings to embrace her.

Terry then turned round to his mates with a huge grin on his face as if to say, ‘How lucky am I?’.

He said: “I really like Kate Middleton, she is really nice, I am so happy to have had a hug from her.

“She didn’t say anything to me she just gave me a very big hug.”

Lucky Terry was one of 11 pupils who visited Newcastle from Morpeth Road Primary School in Blyth, Northumberland, to see the Duchess.

Teacher Kim Ramsey, 32, said: “Terry was very lucky to have had a hug.

“All the children chosen to come and see Kate really like her.

“They have all had a fantastic day. It has been brilliant.

“Kate was lovely, chatting to the children and telling one she really liked her hat.”

The Duchess toured the north east alone today as Prince William attended his nanny Olga Powell’s funeral.
