A new store is set to open in Ashington in two weeks’ time, providing a boost to the town’s economy and creating more than 60 jobs.
B&M Retail announced this week that it will be opening a new discount shop and garden centre in the former B&Q store in Freeman Way.
Creating more than 60 new jobs, it will open its doors for the first time on Thursday, April 21, at 9am.
B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded and own-label products including toys, food and drink, pet products and health and beauty.
The store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, homeware collections and electricals as well as its own garden centre selling everything from paving slabs to garden furniture.
New store manager, Emma Leach, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store. We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”
