Man assaulted by gang of youths in Blyth

Police are appealing for information after an assault in Blyth.

A 43-year-old man was approached by around 20 youths believed to be aged 15-17 years old at 10pm on Friday, December 4, in an alleyway between Waterloo Road and Bondicar Terrace before being assaulted.

The man was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for leg injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the assault is asked to contact police.

Extra officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and speaking with people.
