A pedestrian has been hit by a train on the outskirts of Cramlington.
British Transport Police officers were called to Dam Dykes crossing, also known as Arcot Lane crossing, in Dudley, Cramlington, shortly before 2pm on Thursday, August 13, to reports of a man hit by a train.
A spokesman said: “Officers from BTP and colleagues from Northumbria Police attended the scene, alongside paramedics from the North East Ambulance service, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to establish his identity and will inform his family.
“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
